Planning a trip to the 2010 Olympics?

Monday, August 24, 2009 16:30

If you are planning to attend the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, be sure to treat yourself to a few days on Salt Spring. If you book now, you can come here for some rest and relaxation before or after the events. A float plane can take you from downtown Vancouver or from the international airport in 25 minutes! It’s a gorgeous flight over the Gulf Islands. We can pick you up in Ganges Harbour for the 3 minute drive to our peaceful B & B. The lavender won’t be in bloom but there’s lots of hiking, sightseeing and reading to be done!

Between lavender and apples..

Summer is flying by on Salt Spring! I can’t believe it’s mid August already. I love these hot summer days and often go swimming in St Mary’s Lake or at Vesuvius.
We are selling our fresh cut lavender as well as sachets. And we’ve started our apple harvest. I also just picked the first juicy blackberries to serve with homemade yogurt at breakfast.p81200031

We are enjoying hot summer days on Salt Spring. Luckily the rooms are staying quite cool with cross ventilation and some fans. We had a most amazing sunset a few nights ago.p7250017

After a few drops of rainduring the night, the grass is green and the lavender is starting to come into bloom. This hummingbird visits our feeders, together with many friends and relatives, every day.p51400211

Record breaking Temperatures on Salt Spring

Wednesday, June 3, 2009 16:57

Nothing but blue skies and gorgeous sunshine this week! We’ve seen records for high temps on these dates. But we are not complaining. Our visitors this week came by ferry: on foot and by bicycle and are all enjoying these hot summer days. The deer, however, tend to stay in the shade.
We still have one room available for this Thursday and Friday night.

Dinner on Pender

Saturday, May 30, 2009 12:24

Last night we had a fun outing! We joined other B & B owners with Ian from Outdoor Visions who took us in his whale watching zodiak to Pender Island, where we had dinner at Moon Bay Cafe and visited a winery. The joy of living on the Gulf Islands!
